Cottage cheese and sleep

Ummm... cheese...
Who doesn't like cheese? But be careful not all cheese should be eaten at night they say, here is the best one for you before you go to bed.


                       

We’ve all heard that cheese 🧀 before bed is supposed to give you nightmares, but did you know certain cheeses can actually aid in restful sleep? 😴 Cottage cheese is one of the top foods recommended by experts for a better nights rest, for many reasons. Not only is cottage cheese a lean protein food, but it’s a natural source of tryptophan, an amino acid that helps induce sleep. The calcium in cottage cheese also acts as a booster for this amino acid, essentially helping it to be released and act more effectively. 

Aside from the reasons above, cottage cheese makes a great late night or pre-bedtime snack because of the cheese’s unique properties - it is low in carbohydrates and high in protein.
